Land access begins with a phone call in the winter from the ABMI to you, the private landowner. If you are interested in the program, the ABMI will try to schedule a face-to-face meeting with you, at your convenience. Meetings last about 30 minutes. You will get to see a map of the survey area, and you will be able to outline access conditions.
How we access your land and get to our survey site is up to you. We always walk within the survey area, we just need to know how to get to that area.
If you are unable to meet with the ABMI, information about site access can be communicated via email, mail, or over the phone.
Before accessing your land for the spring and summer surveys, the two-person field crew clean all equipment.
