Dr. Tyler Cobb

Dr. Tyler Cobb is a University of Alberta Research Associate and has served as Director the ABMI’s Processing Centre since 2008. He currently manages a team of scientists responsible for delivering ABMI’s foundational taxonomic research and species-level datasets. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Cobb served as Head of Life Sciences and Curator of Invertebrates at the Royal Alberta Museum.  He holds a BSc and MSc from the University of Regina, a PhD from the University of Alberta, and has a strong background in invertebrate ecology. A keen advocate for building lasting professional networks, Dr. Cobb’s collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to scientific research has resulted in numerous local and international partnerships aimed at biodiversity conservation and better understanding the consequences of natural and anthropogenic disturbance.
